Glitter Everywhere!!
Trevor spent some time in the craft cabinets and came out with paper, glue and glitter. Trevor is my creative and crafty child. He loves crafts! I wondered what he had in mind when he started because he obviously had a vision of what he wanted to make but he wouldn't tell me because it was a surprise.
glue was everywhere!! (making me grateful for washable glue)

The answer to "where do you school"? is...
Have you ever had someone ask you about where you do your homeschooling? It happens a few times a year for us, sometimes from people who are new to homeschooling and sometimes from people who are just curious about what we do and how we do it. For every family the answer will be different.. some have a dedicated room for school or some prefer the dining room.
Here are a few pictures of what school looked like for us today.

As you can see, for us the answer to the question is.. wherever we feel like it at that given time!

Quiet Corner
When we moved into our home over four years ago I knew that I had the perfect place in the master bedroom for a retreat. A place to spend some time with the Lord, reading my Bible and praying, a place to knit or crochet, read a book, meditate and enjoy a cup of coffee.
Over the weekend, I visited with a friend from church for a while and we sat in a wonderful sitting area in their master bedroom, chatted over coffee and she taught me a bit of knitting. It was wonderful and I was again inspired to create my own "Quiet Corner".
So, off I went on a search yesterday for the perfect chair for my corner. I found myself at Pier One and they had a beautiful wicker chair on clearance! I picked it out and accessorized it with a burnt orange color cushion and a pillow to match. I put my finds in the corner that was always meant for them, added a side table, a lamp and a candle that I already had and I now have my place of serenity.
Isn't it just beautiful!

The Joy of Raising Boys
One of the many things that I appreciate about raising boys is their ability to turn everyday things into something fun. This week raking leaves became an adventure when they decided to make an obstacle course before we started on the yard.

After they were done with the obstacle course and we got it all cleaned up it was time to start on the yard. They love to help and I like that they are learning how to work hard and to do our chores with a good attitude. Brandon also loved using the leaf blower. He had so much fun!

Welcome!
Welcome to the Sierra Mama's blog!
I have spent much time contemplating blogging again.. trying to decide on a layout and what to dedicate the blog to. I have finally decided to just jump in and see where it goes.
I am blessed to have a wonderful husband and two amazing children that we educate at home. We are a Christian family living in Northern Nevada. I enjoy most aspects of homemaking ( I have yet to meet anyone who enjoys cleaning toilets), homeschooling, reading, spending time with my amazing family and I want to learn to knit, crochet and quilt so this blog will most likely be filled with posts dedicated to these things.
Thanks for stopping by and again, welcome to my spot on the web.
